Who Told You What Healthy Looks Like?
It took me a while to write this because I had to take a season to pause and figure out what health truly means to me.
When people think about "getting healthy," many automatically think about weight loss. And while maintaining a healthy weight is important, health is so much more than a number on the scale. I believe health is multidimensional.
Here's what I believe: Health is creating and maintaining peace in your mind, body, soul, and spirit. It's learning to listen to and care for each of these parts of yourself with intention and compassion.
Now, many people see "health coach" or "wellness coach" and assume I'm presenting myself as a guru. Absolutely not.
Yes, I'm a doctor and I've spent years studying health. But I coach with the core belief that no one knows your body better than you.
My role isn't to tell you what your body needs. My role is to partner with you and help peel back the layers of distraction, noise, self-doubt, limiting beliefs, and outside expectations so you can better hear what your mind, body, soul, and spirit have been trying to tell you all along.
The truth is, this is work I'm still doing myself.
Lately, I've been learning that health isn't about forcing myself into someone else's definition of success. It's about becoming more aware, more aligned, and more connected to the person God created me to be.
Sometimes that looks like improving my nutrition. Sometimes it means getting more rest. Sometimes it means having an honest conversation with myself about what's really going on beneath the surface.
Health isn't perfection.
It's paying attention.
It's responding to yourself with compassion.
And it's taking the next step forward, even when you don't have everything figured out.
Thank you for taking a few moments to pause and reflect with me today.
I'm grateful you've chosen to be part of this community, and I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
